Goldtrail Travel Limited the company ceased trading on the evening of 16th July 2010. There are no more outbound or inbound Goldtrail flights as of Saturday 17th July 2010.
It is important for you to check all you’re booking confirmations if your flight was booked with Goldtrail. Unless you are booked with Goldtrail, please continue to travel as normal.

The CAA is currently issuing the following advice to customers:

Customers currently abroad on holiday - The CAA (CAA Website) will be making arrangements to ensure customers of Goldtrail can fly home at the end of their holiday. Customers in Turkey: - The majority of flights from Turkey are expected to operate as planned. Customers in Greece:- There may be some changes to flights from Greece and information will be provided by local representatives at the airports involved. The CAA will arrange for replacement flights to bring you back home. Further updates will be provided as soon as it is available. Goldtrail customers seeking general information can call the CAA on 0044 203 4410846

Customer travelling this month:

Our customer support and sales team are currently working to call every customer affected by the collapse of Goldtrail over the next week. We are trying to contact you in a date priority order. We do expect call volumes to be high so we appreciate your patience.

Your options:

Re-booking:- You will now need to make a new flight reservation with a different flight provider to continue with your holiday arrangements.  If you are able to find an alternative flight independently then please go ahead and do so. Please note, you will be required to contact Customer Support if this is the case on 0844 493 0492 or by email admin@mediatravel.co.uk to advise us of the alternative flights you have booked so we can amend your accommodation and transfers (where applicable)

We are trying to find alternative flights for everyone and if necessary re-arrange your hotel/transfer as well. Our customer support and sales team will be contacting everyone affected by the Goldtrail collapse within the next week.  At present there is availability on other airlines and the costs do vary. If you are travelling outside of July and August it would be beneficial for you to wait until additional flight availability has been introduced as prices will significantly settle down.

Cancel your holiday:-

Please be assured that unless we are advised otherwise, your booking will remain as originally booked. If you are unable to find suitable alternatives, or do not wish to rebook your flights then please contact us as soon as possible so we can proceed with cancelling your accommodation and transfers and keep cancellation charges to a minimum. If you have now taken the decision to cancel your booking in full please email us at: goldtrail@mediatravel.co.uk. Please note all cancellations are subject to a £25 per person Admin charge and any supplier charges that are applicable at that time.

Your hotel/transfers – It has been our experience that most hotel/transfer providers are normally cooperative in these types of situations. Whilst we can’t make any guarantees that they will be able to amend your booking free of charge or refund your booking, the majority will help as much as possible.

All flights booked through Goldtrail are ATOL protected and therefore the CAA will refund you the money for the flight.  The CAA will provide instructions as to how to make a claim on their website however due to the timing of Goldtrail's demise, this information is not yet available.  We will post the link here as soon as we have it.  In the meantime, the CAA website can be found by clicking on the link below:

CAA Website

The CAA will advise on the claim procedure, but we do not expect further information on this until Monday 19-Jul-10. Customer travelling from August onwards We will be contacting you shortly. In our experience it is best to wait a while before considering what to do. You will find in the short term flight providers will increase prices for replacements seats as availability is limited however within a few days prices will have returned to normal as extra capacity is made available from airlines. Once again please note that we are expecting a high volume of calls so we do appreciate your patience.
